Lamp Recycling
The design of the Balcan Lamp Recycling Plant is like nothing else.
Lamp Recycling
Designed by lamp recyclers for Lamp Recyclers
Balcan lamp recycling systems are the system of choice in many parts of the world.
We make lamp recycling easy
As a lamp recycler we perfected our own machine before making Balcan Lamp Recycling Systems commercially available.
Our lamp and bulb recycling plant deals with all types of commonly used lamps, in all shapes and sizes, e.g. straight fluorescent, u-tube, HID, sodium, CFL & the latest LED.
We are leading the way…
Balcan lamp recycling technology has kept out in front, designing & building a system to deal with modern day LED. The LED1000 recycler not only recycles led lamps, but can post process the outputs of traditional lamp recyclers to give high value fractions. It also gives a lamp recycler new business opportunities to extend into electronic recycling as well as a number of other waste streams. Please contact Balcan for more details.
Why Recycle Lamps?
Traditionally the mercury content was to main reason to recycle lamps. Now legislation requires lamps are recycled in some parts of the world. We also have a duty to protect the environment and recovering elements such as aluminium to reuse is important.
Recycling of lamps and bulbs is the best solution for the environment for the following reasons:
- One fluorescent tube contains enough mercury to pollute 30,000 litres of water.
- Landfill space is at a premium throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
- Output fractions and their recyclability:
Glass –Aggregate -100% recycled
Aluminium –100% recycled
Ferrous –100% recycled
Glass/Plastic/Copper/Aluminium fines mix – 90-95% recycling varies dependent on metal content.
Plastic – POP’s incineration 100% energy from waste
Phosphor powder – 1% recycled Mercury removed
